Liverpool have no intention of selling Cody Gakpo this summer unless they receive a “huge” offer, despite growing interest from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The 27-year-old forward has been linked with a move to Spurs throughout the transfer window, with reports suggesting Liverpool would only consider his departure if an offer exceeding £60 million is submitted.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham are preparing to intensify their pursuit of the Netherlands international after making initial contact with Gakpo’s representatives.

According to Romano, Spurs are determined to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer window closes and have identified Gakpo as one of their priority targets.

Tottenham are also reportedly pursuing Manchester City winger Savinho as they look to rebuild their squad following a disappointing campaign in which they battled to avoid relegation.

However, convincing Liverpool to part with one of their key attacking players is expected to be a difficult task.

Gakpo remains an important figure in the Reds’ squad, valued for his versatility, work rate and ability to play across the front line. Club officials are understood to have no desire to sanction his departure unless an exceptional bid arrives that reflects both his quality and importance to the team.

With Tottenham expected to step up negotiations in the coming weeks, Liverpool’s resolve could be tested if Spurs return with an offer close to the Reds’ reported valuation.

For now, Liverpool remain firm in their stance, and it would likely take a substantial proposal for the Merseyside club to consider allowing Gakpo to leave Anfield this summer.
