John Stones to replace injured Saliba? Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool Lead Busy Transfer Rumour Round-Up

Arsenal could make a surprise move for former Manchester City defender John Stones if William Saliba’s injury sidelines the French international for an extended period, as Premier League clubs continue to reshape their squads before the transfer window closes.

According to reports, the Gunners are considering signing the 32-year-old England international on a free transfer should Saliba’s fitness concerns prove to be long-term. The move would provide Mikel Arteta with an experienced replacement as Arsenal prepare for another title challenge.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have stepped up their pursuit of Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix, holding formal talks with the Eagles over a potential deal. Palace are reportedly demanding around £55 million for the 26-year-old French centre-back, who is said to be open to a move to Stamford Bridge.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are ready to rival Manchester United in the race for Roma midfielder Manu Koné. The 25-year-old France international has attracted interest from several top European clubs, with the Reds now joining the battle for his signature.

Chelsea are also facing competition from Aston Villa, who remain interested in Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe. The 23-year-old English attacker continues to feature on the recruitment shortlist of both Premier League clubs.

Villa have also reportedly held discussions with Chelsea over the possibility of signing striker Nicolas Jackson and winger Alejandro Garnacho, as Unai Emery looks to strengthen his attacking options.

In Italy, AC Milan forward Rafael Leão is said to favour a move to the Premier League over a switch to Turkey, with Aston Villa emerging as a possible destination for the Portuguese international.

Meanwhile, Lazio are targeting West Ham United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, although Arsenal are also monitoring the DR Congo international as they assess defensive reinforcements.

Serie A giants Juventus are continuing their search for a new goalkeeper, with Aston Villa‘s World Cup-winning shot-stopper Emiliano Martínez identified as the club’s top target. The Italian side are also keeping tabs on Fiorentina veteran David de Gea as an alternative option.

Elsewhere, Everton have entered the race alongside Inter Milan for Tottenham Hotspur defender Djed Spence, while Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund left-back Daniel Svensson, although Arsenal are expected to provide competition for the Swedish international.

With the transfer deadline approaching, several of Europe’s biggest clubs are expected to intensify negotiations as they look to complete key signings before the new season gets underway.
