Suárez Brace Inspires Inter Miami to Dramatic Victory Over Chicago Fire

Luis Suárez scored twice as Inter Miami edged Chicago Fire 3-2 in an entertaining Major League Soccer clash at Nu Stadium on Thursday.

The veteran Uruguayan striker was the difference for Miami, converting a penalty in the 27th minute before adding his second six minutes into the second half to put the hosts in control.

Chicago Fire had taken an early lead in fortunate fashion when Inter Miami goalkeeper Rocco Ríos Novo inadvertently turned the ball into his own net in the 18th minute.

Suárez restored parity from the penalty spot before halftime, ensuring the teams went into the break level at 1-1.

The former Barcelona and Liverpool forward struck again in the 51st minute, finishing from Germán Berterame’s assist to hand Inter Miami a 2-1 advantage.

Chicago refused to back down, with Puso Dithejane drawing the visitors level in the 67th minute after being set up by Maren Haile-Selassie.

However, Inter Miami had the final say as P. Plambeck found the winner three minutes from time, sealing a hard-fought victory for the home side.

The result strengthens Inter Miami’s push in the MLS standings, with Suárez once again proving decisive as the club continues its pursuit of silverware.
