Barcelona returned from the international break in style, cruising to a 3–0 victory over Getafe at Spotify Camp Nou on Saturday to maintain their perfect start to the 2026/27 La Liga season.
Hansi Flick’s side dominated proceedings, with goals from Anthony Gordon, Gabriel Jesus and Jules Koundé securing an eighth consecutive league win and matching Barcelona’s record for the best start to a La Liga campaign.
Gordon opened the scoring after just two minutes, cutting inside before firing a shot that deflected off Getafe midfielder Mario Martín and beat goalkeeper David Soria.
Barcelona continued to apply pressure, limiting Getafe’s attacking opportunities while creating chances through Dani Olmo, Gavi and Lamine Yamal.
The hosts doubled their advantage in the 30th minute when Gabriel Jesus punished a defensive error. The Brazilian won possession high up the pitch, drove into the penalty area and finished confidently across goal to make it 2–0.
Getafe showed greater ambition after the break but struggled to disrupt Barcelona’s control of the match.
The decisive third goal arrived in the 73rd minute. Lamine Yamal delivered a dangerous cross into the box, and Koundé finished from close range to seal a comfortable victory.
The result kept Barcelona firmly at the top of the table, preserving their five-point advantage over Atlético Madrid. The Catalan side will now turn their attention to their upcoming Champions League fixture against Galatasaray.
For Flick, the performance was another demonstration of Barcelona’s attacking depth, with the team maintaining its winning momentum despite missing key players through injury.
Barcelona’s perfect league record remains intact, while Getafe are left to regroup after a difficult afternoon against the reigning pace-setters.
