Have Manchester City Won the Race for Ayyoub Bouaddi as Elliot Anderson's £116m Move Nears?

Manchester City are reportedly on the verge of securing one of Europe’s brightest young talents after reaching an agreement to sign Ayyoub Bouaddi, while Elliot Anderson edges closer to completing his blockbuster £116 million transfer.

Although Pep Guardiola’s side have kept a relatively low profile in the summer transfer window, the Premier League champions continue to strengthen for the future with a series of highly-rated young arrivals.

Among the club’s completed deals is Mathys Detourbet, who joined from sister club Troyes before immediately being loaned to Monaco for the 2026/27 campaign. Goalkeeper Pierce Charles has also been sent out on loan to Championship side Queens Park Rangers to continue his development.

City have already beaten Arsenal to the signing of teenage sensation Jeremy Monga, and reports now suggest they are set to outmanoeuvre the Gunners once again by landing highly coveted midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi.

The French youngster is regarded as one of Europe’s most exciting prospects, and his arrival would further underline City’s long-term recruitment strategy of investing in elite emerging talent.

Meanwhile, attention is also focused on Elliot Anderson, whose proposed £116 million transfer is nearing completion in what would rank among the biggest deals of the summer.

While Manchester City’s first-team transfer activity has been limited compared to some of their Premier League rivals, the club’s continued pursuit of top young prospects suggests the reigning champions are quietly laying the foundations for sustained success in the years ahead.
