Manchester United have made it clear that they intend to reject any offer for captain Bruno Fernandes before next month’s transfer deadline, despite interest from several European clubs.
Galatasaray, Juventus and AC Milan are reportedly considering approaches for the Portugal international, with Galatasaray understood to have been preparing a proposal that could reach €50 million (£42.7 million).
However, senior sources at Old Trafford have reportedly indicated that Galatasaray would be wasting their time pursuing a deal, with United determined to keep Fernandes.
The stance marks a significant change from last summer, when United allowed Fernandes to decide whether he wanted to accept a lucrative offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal.
Fernandes eventually stayed at Old Trafford but later admitted that he felt “hurt” by the club’s position at the time.
United have now adopted a much firmer stance, with club sources insisting that Fernandes is not for sale at any price.
No formal bids have yet been received for the 31-year-old, but the midfielder remains under contract until next summer, with United holding an option to extend his deal for another season.
A £57 million release clause in Fernandes’ contract has also expired, strengthening United’s negotiating position.
There has so far been no agreement over a new contract, although Fernandes is understood to prefer remaining at Old Trafford.
The midfielder’s importance to the club was highlighted by the enthusiastic reception he received from United supporters during last week’s pre-season match against Leeds in Dublin.
Fernandes recorded a Premier League-record 21 assists last season and is among the favourites to win the 2025-26 PFA Player of the Year award.
With interest from Galatasaray, Juventus and AC Milan, United could face further approaches before the transfer window closes, but their message remains clear: Fernandes is not available for transfer.
