Nigeria’s Super Falcons and three players have earned nominations for the 2026 CAF Women’s Awards, with the ceremony set to hold in Lagos on December 7.
The Super Falcons are shortlisted for Women’s National Team of the Year, while Christiana Uzoma is nominated for Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year.
Seimeyeha Janet Akekoromowei of Benfica and Oluwakemi Adegbuyi complete Nigeria’s individual nominations in the Women’s Young Player of the Year category.
The nominations put Nigeria in the spotlight ahead of the awards ceremony, which will bring together some of Africa’s finest football talents in Lagos.
However, no Nigerian player made the shortlist for Women’s Player of the Year.
Nigerian fans will now hope the Super Falcons and the country’s individual nominees can turn their nominations into awards on home soil.
