Pedro, 39, confirmed his decision to step away from the game after an illustrious career that saw him establish himself as one of the most decorated players of his generation.
The former Barcelona star came through the club’s famed La Masia academy before breaking into the first team under Pep Guardiola.

At international level, Pedro was equally successful with Spain. He played a key role in the national team’s golden era, winning the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and the 2012 European Championship.
Announcing his retirement, Pedro reflected on his connection with the Catalan club and the lasting place it holds in his heart.
“My heart will always be a Barcelona fan,” he said.
