Tottenham Agree Club-Record Deal to Sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement to sign Italy international Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United in what is set to become the biggest transfer in the club’s history.

The North London club have reportedly finalised an agreement with Newcastle, while personal terms have also been settled with the 25-year-old midfielder, paving the way for the move to be completed.

The deal is understood to be worth more than the £85 million Spurs paid to sign Mateus Fernandes, making Tonali the club’s new record signing.

Tonali arrives after establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most accomplished midfielders following his move from AC Milan to Newcastle. Renowned for his passing range, tactical intelligence and relentless work rate, the Italian has become one of Europe’s most highly rated central midfielders.

His arrival represents a major statement of intent from Tottenham as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, with the club investing heavily in a player expected to become the heartbeat of their midfield.

For Newcastle, the departure of one of their key performers will leave a significant void, while Tottenham believe Tonali’s experience and leadership qualities can elevate the team’s ambitions both domestically and in Europe.

The transfer is expected to be completed once the remaining formalities, including a medical and official documentation, are finalised.
