Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has put an end to months of transfer speculation by confirming that he will remain at Turkish side Trabzonspor despite attracting interest from several clubs across Europe and the Middle East.

The Nigerian international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Süper Lig club following an outstanding 2025/26 campaign that saw him emerge as one of the league’s most prolific forwards.

Onuachu enjoyed the best season of his career, scoring 22 goals in 30 league appearances to finish as the Turkish Süper Lig’s joint-top scorer. His goals also played a pivotal role in helping Trabzonspor lift the Turkish Cup, significantly boosting his reputation in the transfer market.

The 32-year-old’s remarkable performances reportedly attracted strong interest from Turkish giants Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray, as well as clubs in Saudi Arabia and Germany.

According to reports, Fenerbahçe submitted an offer worth €20 million, along with forward Oğuz Aydın, in a bid to persuade Trabzonspor to part with the Nigerian striker.

Galatasaray were also said to be keen on signing Onuachu, with reports suggesting the Istanbul club hoped fellow Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen could help convince his international teammate to make the move.

Despite the interest and the prospect of more lucrative offers, Onuachu has now made it clear that he intends to continue his journey with Trabzonspor, ending speculation surrounding his future.

His decision represents a significant boost for Trabzonspor as they prepare for the new season, with the club set to retain one of the most in-form strikers in Turkish football.

Having rediscovered his best form in Turkey, Onuachu will now look to build on his impressive campaign while also strengthening his place in Nigeria’s squad ahead of upcoming international competitions.
