Two games into the new Premier League season, newly promoted Ipswich Town already have something Liverpool are still searching for: a league victory.

Ipswich began their return to the top flight in dramatic fashion, securing a last-gasp 2-1 win over Sunderland on the opening weekend. They then carried that momentum into the Carabao Cup, beating Leicester City 3-1.

However, their second Premier League outing exposed some weaknesses.

Ipswich took a 1-0 lead at Old Trafford against Manchester United but were unable to hold on, eventually suffering a heavy 5-2 defeat.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have yet to record their first league win under new manager Andoni Iraola.

The Reds have fallen behind in both of their opening Premier League matches. They fought back to earn a 2-2 draw at Newcastle, with Dominik Szoboszlai scoring a dramatic injury-time equaliser.

Liverpool then found themselves trailing again in their next fixture before summer signing Victor Munoz struck late to rescue another 2-2 draw.

The results leave Liverpool with just two points from their opening two league games, a start that will concern Iraola as he looks to establish his style at Anfield.

Interestingly, Ipswich currently sit 12th in the Premier League, one place above Liverpool in 13th, heading into their meeting.
