Harry Kane is closing in on a new Bayern Munich contract after talks with the Bundesliga champions reached a breakthrough.

The England captain and Bayern have reportedly reached an agreement in principle over a contract extension, with negotiations now entering their final stage.

Kane’s current deal expires in the summer of 2027, but Bayern have been determined to keep their star striker beyond the end of the season.

According to reports, the new contract is expected to run until 2029, although some final details, including the exact length and potential release clause, still need to be resolved before the deal can be officially signed.

The 33-year-old has made it clear that he is happy in Munich. In September, Kane said talks were “going well” and that he was “pretty close” to an agreement with the club.

Kane has been outstanding since joining Bayern from Tottenham in 2023, becoming one of the Bundesliga’s most prolific strikers and helping the club win two league titles.

With the latest breakthrough, Bayern now appear increasingly confident that their star forward will remain in Germany rather than make a return to the Premier League.

The deal is not officially signed yet but Kane’s Bayern future is looking increasingly secure.
