Manchester City have continued to strengthen their player development pathway by sending highly rated Norwegian midfielder Sverre Nypan on a season-long loan to Belgian Pro League newcomers Lommel SK.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who joined the Premier League champions from Rosenborg in a deal worth around £12.5 million last summer, will spend the 2026/27 campaign with Lommel, another club within the City Football Group (CFG) network.

According to reports from the Manchester Evening News, City considered several destinations for the Norway Under-21 international before deciding that Belgium offered the best platform for his continued development. Lommel, who secured promotion to the Belgian Pro League last season, has become an increasingly important part of City’s long-term development strategy. Nypan arrives with an impressive reputation despite his age.
