Brackley Town FC have strengthened their squad with the signing of midfielder Charlie Cooper on a free transfer following his departure from Yeovil Town FC.
The 29-year-old arrives at Brackley after spending the second half of last season on loan at Kidderminster Harriers FC, where he played a key role in helping the club secure promotion to the National League through the play-offs.
Cooper brings a wealth of experience to the newly promoted side, having previously represented clubs including Forest Green Rovers FC, Woking FC, Wealdstone FC and Oldham Athletic AFC.
Speaking after completing the move, Cooper revealed that discussions with Brackley manager Andy Whing convinced him that the club was the right destination for the next stage of his career.
“Brackley stood out for me. After speaking to the gaffer, it was clear it was the perfect fit, and I’m looking forward to getting started,” Cooper told the club’s official website.
The signing represents another important addition for Brackley as they continue preparations for life in the National League, with Cooper expected to add experience, leadership and midfield quality to Whing’s squad ahead of the new campaign.
