In a dramatic turn of events, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has stripped Senegal of their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title, awarding the championship to Morocco instead.

The decision stems from Senegal’s walk-off protest during the final match, where they were awarded a late penalty.

The penalty was eventually missed, and Senegal won 1-0 in extra time.

However, CAF’s Appeal Board deemed Senegal’s actions unacceptable, citing competition regulations, and ruled in favor of Morocco.
