Former Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has officially joined Getafe on a contract running until June 2027, bringing an end to uncertainty surrounding his next destination following his departure from the Spanish giants in June.
The 34-year-old right-back was confirmed as a Getafe player on Tuesday after the club overcame concerns over La Liga’s financial regulations, which had threatened to delay the completion of the deal.
Carvajal arrives with an impressive record at the highest level of European football, having made 451 appearances for Real Madrid and won six UEFA Champions League titles during his time at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The experienced defender also claimed four La Liga titles with Madrid, establishing himself as one of the club’s most successful players of his generation.
At international level, Carvajal earned 51 caps for Spain and played a role in the national team’s triumph at the 2024 European Championship.
His arrival represents a significant addition for Getafe, who will hope his experience, defensive quality and leadership can strengthen their squad as they compete in Spanish football.
After years of competing for major honours with Real Madrid, Carvajal now faces a new challenge with Getafe, where he will look to maintain his influence on the pitch and help the club achieve its ambitions.
The deal, which runs until June 2027, gives the veteran full-back an opportunity to continue his career in La Liga following his departure from one of Europe’s most decorated clubs.
