Klopp Returns! Germany Turn to Former Liverpool Boss After World Cup Exit

Germany have moved swiftly following their disappointing World Cup elimination by appointing Jürgen Klopp as their new head coach.

The former Liverpool manager has agreed to take charge of the national team, with only final details regarding his long-term contract, the overall project and his exit from the Red Bull football group still to be resolved before the appointment is formally announced.

Klopp’s return to management comes after Germany’s penalty shootout defeat to Paraguay ended Julian Nagelsmann’s tenure, with the German Football Association wasting little time in securing one of the country’s most successful modern coaches.

Reports indicate that Red Bull had considered bringing in Oliver Glasner as Klopp’s replacement within their football structure, but those plans were abandoned after Glasner accepted the managerial position at Nottingham Forest.

Klopp now faces the task of restoring Germany’s status among world football’s elite after another disappointing World Cup campaign.
