Ipswich Town goalkeeper Arijanet Muric is heading back to Italy for good, with the 27-year-old set to join Serie A side Sassuolo on a permanent deal.
Muric spent the 2024-25 season on loan with the Neroverdi, making 32 appearances and keeping six clean sheets as Sassuolo secured an 11th-place finish in Serie A. The Italian club have now exercised their option to make the move permanent for an undisclosed fee.
The Kosovo international joined Ipswich from Burnley for an initial £10m in July 2024, but found opportunities limited as the Suffolk side battled relegation from the Premier League. He featured in 18 league games before Ipswich dropped back to the Championship.
Muric began his career at Manchester City, where he made five League Cup appearances. He has since gained experience across Europe with loan spells at NAC Breda, Nottingham Forest, and Girona before his stint in Serie A.
The move marks a return to familiar surroundings for Muric, who will now look to cement his place as Sassuolo’s No.1 heading into the new season.
